Monica Ianelli, LCSW is a graduate of Columbia University’s School of Social Work and a psychotherapist based in New York City. As a licensed clinical social worker, she uses her professional training to guide people through difficult and stressful times, helping them feel more hopeful and ensuring they can make progress towards their goals through creative critical reflection. Whether helping clients improve their interpersonal relationships, or to find more effective ways to deal with depression, loss, anxiety and life’s ups and downs; she is a compassionate, warm and nonjudgmental listener that encourages her clients to clarify major issues that they believe are holding them back from living a full and meaningful life.
She takes a great deal of pride in the changes that she sees in her client's lives through her guidance, support and mindfulness interventions. Like her clients, she has dealt with her own struggles as she has climbed the mountain of life. Her advantage is that she is simply in a different place on the mountain and can help her clients choose the path that leads to a happier and more fulfilling and purposeful life. Monica's sessions go beyond simple talk therapy; they are designed to be illuminating, collaborative and engaging, producing the emotional changes that her clients desire. Monica truly believes that everyone has the capacity for growth and through mindful awareness, there can be emotional wellbeing and healing.
